The desert is a beautiful place in the light. That is when you can see the mountains, the sunsets, the earth tones, the native plants and animals, the golf courses and backyard swimming pools.
The desert is also a beautiful place in the dark. Because there’s limited light (including street lights, depending where you are), barely anything can be seen – only felt and heard. When exploring way out in the desert at night you must tap into your other senses for survival.
Same goes for when looking for somewhere to party in the desert after dark. There’s little light shined on these types of events, but if you feel around on the internet and listen closely, you can hear the base pumping and find your way there.
