This Saturday is Dia De Los Muertos!
This year we are bringing to attention two events that are happening on opposite sides of the Valley, one in Palm Springs and one in Coachella. Both are free, and invite the whole family to come out and enjoy the festivities.
What is Day of the Dead??:
Day of the Dead is a time of celebration and remembrance. On this day families gather to tell stories, honor their heritage and commemorate loved ones who have passed away. Through vivid imagery, storytelling and traditions, death is recognized as a continuation of life.
¿Qué es el Día de los Muertos?
El Día de los Muertos es un tiempo para celebrar y recordar. Durante este día familias enteras se reúnen para contra historias, honrar su cultura, y conmemorar a los seres queridos que han fallecido. Por medio de imágenes, narrativas y tradiciones vívidas, la muerte es reconocida como una continuación de la vida.

On the East Side of the Valle
Raices is hosting the 7th Annual Day of the Dead celebration in Coachella on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 6PM.

Raices Cultura invites you to the 7th Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration in Coachella including altar displays, artist showcase and auction, food, dance, and music. To honor those that have passed and celebrate life. Come early to join the Community Calavera Procession with Danza Azteca leaving from the Raices Community Space at 1494 6th Street to the Dia de los Muertos celebration at 1612 1st Street. After the event, the Date Farmers, local renowned artists, will host a Dia de los Muertos after party just a block away at their new Art Studio at 85-591 Grapefruit Blvd. Come dressed up for the ocassion.
