The Coachella Valley Art Scene was created by Sarah Scheideman three years ago.  She was inspired to start the website after she graduated from college and had returned to her hometown  to realize there wasn’t a night life that she was looking for.  She didn’t want to go to night clubs or flashy bars… she just wanted to simply go to intellectual and culturally enriching events (a.k.a. good music venues and cool art shows) to meet more people who were her age with similar interests.  She looked all around for a publication or website of some sort that offered this information and didn’t find anything – so, she started one herself.

With no intention other than to document and promote quality events that were being organized by the younger arts community of the Coachella Valley, Scheideman made her part time hobby into her full time passion within months.

Sarah Scheideman considers her website, The Coachella Valley Art Scene, her first long term journalist case-study of a young art community based in the Coachella Valley (the community home to the most famous music festival in all of the nation, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival) that has developed and blossomed incredibly over the past two years.  Scheideman is a journalist based in the Coachella Valley and also does freelance work in Los Angeles.  She is 25 years old, and is a Pisces.
